October 2016

Year End Planning

Do you have some 2016 goals that you still need to achieve? Well, the good news is that you still have a quarter to go. However, for important goals, 3 months can move pretty quickly. In this Newsletter, we'll try to offer some guidance that will help you mark some of these as completed.

Here are examples of goals we've helped clients achieve in the final months of recent years:

  • Update buy-sell agreements with other business owners
  • Sell or purchase a business or division
  • Start a new business
  • Create a new Estate Plan
  • Update an old Estate Plan
  • Get Corporate Minute book in good order (organize and complete corporate records)
  • Create or update Employee and Non-Compete Agreements
  • Start gifting assets to children or grandchildren in a prudent way>/li>
  • Buy out a business partner
  • Offer ownership to a key employee

The biggest impediment to achieving your goal may simply be inertia. The best way we know of to overcome this is to get in motion, and even a little motion can do it. A phone call to our office to set-up a time with one of our attorneys and learn more about what's involved may be that first step that, ultimately, gives you the satisfaction of a completed goal. In order to exceed your expectations, our legal team plans to assemble and organize cases with year-end deadlines by October 31st.
